NYSE Plans to Extend Trading Hours
According to a recent survey, the New York Stock Exchange may be mulling extending trading hours to weekends, following the lead of cryptocurrency markets.
The NYSE’s data analytics team sent out a questionnaire to stakeholders asking for their opinion on extending trading hours beyond the current 9:30 am to 4:00 pm ET.
Such a move would align traditional markets with the uninterrupted operation of crypto markets, which operate 24/7/365.
With the rise of retail trading and platforms such as Robinhood, which offer 24/7 trading for some stocks, there is a growing demand for flexibility and availability in trading opportunities.
