Tether Issues USDT on TON Blockchain
Since TON began supporting USDT on its blockchain on April 19, $60 million worth of Tether has been issued, making it the 11th largest blockchain for the stablecoin out of 16.
Moreover, Tether announced a partnership with the TON Foundation at the Token2049 conference in Dubai on April 19, allowing for the minting of Tether on the TON blockchain. Additionally, the stablecoin issuer also launched Tether Gold on TON, a gold-backed stablecoin.
The TON team has stated that Tether transactions on their network are instant, free, and as simple as sending a text message to the 900 million users on Telegram.
In a post on social media platform X, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino expressed that the company had a successful start with $35 million USDT issued on TON.
