Starbucks Abandons its NFT Program
Starbucks has announced that it will be discontinuing its digital collectible stamp program, where customers could earn and buy non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The program, called “Odyssey Beta,” will come to an end on March 31, according to a recent statement. Odyssey Beta allowed users to participate in coffee-themed games and challenges to earn digital stamps.
These stamps could then be used to access new benefits and interactive experiences. The marketplace and community Discord server where users could trade their stamps will also be shut down.
The marketplace for the stamps will now be transitioned to the Nifty marketplace, where users can continue buying, selling, and transferring their stamps.
The reason behind Starbucks’ decision to end the program is unclear, and it is uncertain if there will be a new Web3 development in its place.
