Venture Capital Investments in Blockchain Startups Hit $1.9B in Q4: Report
According to recent reports from Block Research, venture capital investments in the blockchain industry experienced a significant decline of 68% in 2023. In comparison, capital investments in 2022 amounted to $33.3 billion, but fell drastically to $10.7 billion last year.
However, Pitchbook, a research firm, has found that the investment appeal of blockchain startups has begun to recover in the third quarter of 2023, with $1.9 billion being invested into this sector by investors.
Swan Bitcoin and Blockchain.com were the platforms that attracted the most capital during this period. Despite this, the overall number of transactions involving venture capital in the crypto industry decreased by almost 2.5% in the last quarter of the year.
Fintech, blockchain infrastructure, and tokenization of real assets are the most attractive areas for investors, including those in real estate and stocks.
Rob Le, an analyst from Pitchbook, stated to CNBC that the attractiveness of blockchain startups has increased due to the readiness of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to approve applications for launching exchange-traded crypto ETFs.
