SEC Delays its Decision on Fidelity’s Ethereum ETF
Following a request from Fidelity, the Securities and Exchange Commission has extended the deadline for making a decision on Fidelity’s proposed spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund until March 5.
This delay will allow the SEC adequate time to thoroughly review the proposal and address any concerns that have been raised.
Fidelity initially applied for the fund in November, citing a previous court ruling that highlighted the SEC’s lack of a clear rationale for rejecting spot crypto ETFs while allowing futures-based products.
The SEC’s decision on whether to approve, reject, or further review the proposal has now been pushed back, as expected by Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analyst James Seyffart.
