Celebrating its tenth anniversary on December 6, Dogecoin marked the occasion by achieving its highest value of the year at $0.102.

Experiencing a nearly 17% increase in a day, the positive momentum may have been influenced by Bitcoin’s rally, drawing other altcoins into positive territory.

The meme cryptocurrency reclaimed the 10th position in terms of capitalization on CoinGecko, registering $14.5 billion.

With a trading volume surpassing $3.2 billion in the last 24 hours, Dogecoin, despite hitting recent highs, would need a sevenfold increase to reach its all-time high of $0.73 in May 2021.

Launched on December 6, 2013, by developer Billy Marcus and Adobe Systems sales employee Jackson Palmer, Dogecoin originated as a playful response to the burgeoning number of cryptocurrencies at the time.
