Tesla Kept its Bitcoins in Q3 2023

One of the top holders of Bitcoin is Tesla, with the American electric vehicle manufacturer announcing in February 2021 that it had invested $1.5 billion in the cryptocurrency.

However, Tesla’s recent move to sell 75% of its Bitcoin holding last year has raised questions about its investment strategy.

Despite this, Tesla has not sold any additional Bitcoin since mid-2022. As of the end of the third quarter of 2023, the company still holds 9,720 BTC, worth $275.4 million.

Other major holders of Bitcoin include MicroStrategy, Coinbase, Block, and top miners such as Marathon, Riot, and Hive.

However, the news about Tesla’s BTC reserves did not impact the market, as Bitcoin remains below $29,000 and volatility has subsided after a brief surge above $30,000 earlier this week.
