Blockchain Games Devs Attract $2.3B Year to Date
According to DappRadar’s findings, the development of gaming blockchain applications received a total of $2.3 billion in investment during the year 2023, with $600 million being invested in the third quarter alone.
The first and second quarters also saw significant funding, with $739 million and $973 million respectively.
Notably, a considerable portion of the investment, $213 million, was directed towards projects within the metaverse, while the rest was focused on creating the necessary Web3 infrastructure for gamers.
DappRadar highlighted the gaming app sector as one of the fastest-growing in the blockchain economy, surpassing both DeFi and NFT markets in terms of growth rates and user activity.
The dominance of the gaming DApps ecosystem in the blockchain economy was solidified in 2022.
However, in 2023, there was a decrease in investment in the industry, primarily due to the weakening investment appeal of the digital currency market, which has been heavily impacted by strict regulations from the US and Europe.
