Top Managers Are Leaving Binance in Russia
Gleb Kostayev and Vladimir Smerkis resigned on September 6 from their respective positions as Director for Eastern Europe and Director for the CIS of Binance cryptocurrency exchange.
Kostarev proudly thanked the company’s CEO, Changpeng Zhao, and co-founder Yi He for the trust that was placed in him and shared that his departure was “not related to the latest events on the P2P platform and articles in Western media.”
Smerkis also promised to later reveal the reasons for his resignation. In response, Changpeng commented on his former employee’s departure, saying that it opened up further opportunities for growth within Binance.
He advised not to pay attention to FUD and to continue with the building process. Most recently, the exchange removed Sber, Tinkoff and Alfa, all of which are under American sanction, from its P2P platforms, and also prohibited Russians from exchanging transactions with any fiat currencies except for the Ruble.
