Worldcoin Hits Record Daily Registrations in Argentina
The Worldcoin project, headed by Sam Altman, reported tremendous success in Argentina with 9,500 citizens being verified within a 24-hour period.
The process was performed with biometric scanning spheres found in four cities – Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Cordoba and Mendoza; the project’s main product, a mobile device based on zero-knowledge proofs, instantly enables identification through a retinal scan or phone number.
This has caused interest from UK, France, Germany, Kenya and other countries, and even a subsequent investigation by Argentina’s Agency for Access to Public Information due to concerns for user privacy.
Despite this, the launch of Worldcoin on July 24 continues to expand, with the company’s European manager Ricardo Maceira announcing its use by large organizations and governments.
