Canada’s Law Enforcement Authorities Warn Crypto Investors About Robberies

The RCMP has reported that there has been a spike in robberies at large cryptocurrency investors’ homes throughout Canada in recent months.

It is believed that the perpetrators know of the victims’ investments in digital assets and even their address.

These incidents have been reported in Richmond and Delta (British Columbia). They gain entry to houses pretending to be couriers or government officials, and once inside, steal information that gives them access to the victims’ cryptocurrency accounts.

Details of the cases remain unknown and it is possible there may be more victims who are afraid to come forward.

The RCMP urged investors to take precautionary measures to protect themselves and their funds.

Examples of such incidents include the case of Aiden Plethersky, a 23-year-old self-acclaimed “crypto king” from Canada, who was kidnapped, tortured and had a ransom of 3 million dollars demanded of him in March.
