Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., a participant in the current US election race, claims that American financial stability and prosperity can be maintained if the national currency is supported with “hard currency” like gold, silver, platinum, or Bitcoin, and promised to exempt income from Bitcoin operations from taxation.

He has mentioned that he plans to gradually increase Treasury paper support in small increments, such as 1%.

Aside from that, he believes that this will drive increased investment and development within the United States, rather than in other crypto-friendly jurisdictions.

Kennedy has moreover been vocal about his views on traditional currency, digital gold, and the US regulatory environment.

One of his Republican opponents, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, even promised in May this year to protect the first cryptocurrency, if elected.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes that the US elections will be a crucial moment for regulating digital assets. Additionally, Kennedy admitted to investing roughly $250,000 in digital gold.
