Former SEC Chairman Believes Spot Bitcoin ETF May Appear on US Market
The former chairman of the SEC, Jay Clayton, has declared on CNBC that the US regulators are likely to approve the introduction of Bitcoin ETF exchange-based crypto funds.
This opinion is shared by Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, who speculated that the chances of the BlackRock-led launch of a Bitcoin-ETF fund could be as high as 50%.
Clayton affirmed that in order for the SEC to give a greenlight to such a fund, a regulatory framework must be set in place to ensure that it is free of market manipulation and investor protection.
He concluded that only through the implementation of such a system will the industry be able to obtain transparency and foster it’s growth.
