Binance has announced that it is launching integration of the Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN) micropayment system for deposits and withdrawals, as some users had noticed their new Lightning nodes.

The exchange has been expanding its services to prevent similar errors after internal tech failures due to the Bitcoin network congestion.

Other trading platforms, including Bitfinex and Kraken, have already implemented support for the network.

Current statistics from LookIntoBitcoin show that the throughput of LN currently stands at around $145.3 million or 5410 BTC.

In addition, Binance’s mining pool has also introduced a transaction acceleration service for VIP traders. Meanwhile, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has also shared plans for the integration of Lightning Network in “some capacity.”
