Deutsche Bank CEO Says He Is Not Worried About a Potential Bank Crisis in Europe

Christian Sewing, CEO of Deutsche Bank, has assured today that he was not concerned about Europe experiencing a banking crisis.

He has noted that European banks are doing well, and that any issues in US banks do not have a direct effect on the continent.

He has added that while the bank wanted to increase its size through organic growth, it was open to acquisitions if it made sense to do so.

Sewing did state, though, that he could not envision any significant M&A transactions in Europe at present.

This sentiment was echoed by the bank’s recent purchase of the boutique investment bank Numis, which is their largest acquisition in over a decade.
