Nike Plans to Release its AirForce Sneakers as NFTs
Nike has announced the launch of a new collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the form of digital sneakers – Our Force 1 – on their Swoosh Web3 platform.
To celebrate the launch of the collection tokens, the company will conduct an airdrop of 106,453 OF1 posters, with a chance of about 1 in 3 to receive a drop.
The first wave of sales of digital sneakers will begin on May 8 at 18:00 (CET) and will last until May 10, with a price of $19.82 per “virtual showbox.”
This unlocks a different digital version of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 from 1982. Collectively, fashion brands Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany, Gucci, Adidas, and Nike have generated $260 million in revenue from non-fungible token sales, according to on-chain data.
