The Securities and Exchange Commission Launches an Investigation into Kraken
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched an investigation into possible violations of securities laws by crypto platform Kraken when offering products to US users.
According to Bloomberg, it is unknown whether the claims are related to a particular product or token.
The process is at an advanced stage, a source said. Kraken’s agreement with the regulator could be announced in the coming days.
The watchdog has recalled that in December, the head of the SEC, Gary Gensler, warned crypto firms about reducing the “runway” for their registration with the department.
