South Korean Regulator Considers Some Digital Currencies as Securities
The South Korean authorities have decided to include some digital currencies in the category of securities. As a result of this decision, the operations with such instruments will be regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
Now that they are considered as securities, those tokens are subject to the legislation on financial markets, from investments in which traders receive dividends.
The regulator has also included in the same category digital assets that bring profit to an investor for financing a promising business project.
According to the FSC, transactions with certain digital assets will be regulated using the “Capital Market Law.”
