Indonesia Set to Launch a National Cryptocurrency Exchange
The creation of a regulated platform for transactions with digital assets in 2023 is part of a large-scale government project to reform the financial sector.
According to the head of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, Didid Nordiatmoko, the modernization of the state’s financial infrastructure started in December.
The project has been supported by many departments, including the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia. During the next two years, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) will receive full authority to control the cryptocurrency market.
The Indonesian House of Representatives passed last month a financial market development bill.
