Iranian Court Orders Release of Seized Crypto Mining Devices
Citing the pressure on the national energy grids during winter, which has caused many power cuts in Iran, the country’s authorities have been seizing mining devices over the past 2 years. However, an Iranian court has now ordered the release of seized crypto mining equipment.
Iran’s Organization for Collection and Sale of State-Owned Property (OCSSOP) has seized mining devices since last year in an attempt to prevent power cuts in the country. However, it seems that the authorities have changed their mind and have ordered the release of the devices.
According to Abdolmajid Eshtehadi, head of Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance:
“Currently some 150,000 crypto mining equipment are held by the OCSSOP, a large part of which will be released following judicial rulings. Machines have already been returned.”
