Irish Regulator Grants Digital Asset Provider License to Coinbase
US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced that it has received approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to operate as a service provider in the country’s digital asset market.
The license allows trading platform Coinbase Europe and custodian Coinbase Custody International to continue to provide products and services to individuals and institutions in Europe and abroad from Ireland.
However, in order to comply with local regulations, the companies are subject to the local Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Criminal Prosecution Act.
Coinbase received an e-money license for Coinbase Ireland in 2019.
