Poly Network Hacker Returns Almost All Stolen Funds
The hacker who recently attacked the DeFi protocol Poly Network has returned almost all the funds he stole during the hack, according to The Block.
The hacker, who a few days ago stole a total $611 million from different blockchains, has returned almost all the funds and only keeps $33 million in USDT which were frozen by Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin, after the attack.
The reason why he has not returned them is because he cannot do it until Tether unfreezes them and authorized the transfer.
Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino said:
“We’ll expedite the work with the project to return the funds.”
According to him, Tether will probably burn the tokens and will issue new tokens to transfer them to Poly Network.
The hacker has returned the stolen funds over the course of 2 days.
