South Africa Unveils Bitcoin Transfer Service Through SMS
The Machankura SMS service, which allows users to transfer Bitcoin without access to the Internet, has been launched in South Africa.
According to developer Kgothatso Ngako:
“Anyone can go from not having Bitcoin to having it and then spending.”
He expects that thanks to the service, millions of Africans will get access to BTC. Manchakura currently operates in six countries. According to the developer, Paxful is interested in integrating the service.
Manchakura is available to owners of push-button mobile phones. The application does not require access to the Internet, does not take up much space and does not lead to significant costs for users. SIM cards act as private keys.
Customers dial a number and are then taken to a menu where they can learn more about Bitcoin or sign up for an account.
