Antiviruses Devs ESET, Avast and Norton Halt Sales in Russia
Several companies developing popular antiviruses have recently suspended sales of services in Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
To begin with, cybersecurity solution provider ESET has stopped selling its products to users from Russia and Belarus. The company has announced:
“In response to the Russian government’s shocking decision to invade Ukraine, ESET is stopping new sales for all individuals, businesses and organizations in Russia and Belarus.”
The company will also provide citizens of Ukraine with 500,000 euros in assistance through its fund and support in the field of cybersecurity. In addition, all critical infrastructure operators in Ukraine will have free access to the latest ESET solutions.
In addition, Avast has stopped selling its products in Russia and Belarus and will provide free license updates for Ukrainian users. The company has announced:
“Our business, which annually generates about $2.5 million in taxes to the Russian government, will not be involved in Russia’s actions in any way.”
