KPMG Canada Adds BTC and ETH to its Reserves
KPMG, one of the four largest auditors in the world, the Big Four, has announced it has added Bitcoin and Ethereum to the balance of its Canadian branch:
“We have just completed an allocation of cryptoassets to our corporate treasury, our firm’s first of its kind investment in the asset class. This includes Bitcoin and Ethereum tokens, and carbon offsets to maintain a net-zero carbon transaction.”
The company has purchased an undisclosed amount of BTC and ETH through the Gemini Trust service.
According to the company, it will continue to build opportunities in the decentralized finance, non-fungible tokens and metaverse sectors. The auditor will also purchase carbon credits as part of its ESG commitments.
Recall that in 2020, KPMG created Chain Fusion, a specialized software designed to make it easier for traditional financial companies and fintech startups to manage crypto assets.
