Coincheck Approved to List on Nasdaq

Coincheck, a Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange and a subsidiary of Monex Group, is set to make history by becoming the first Japanese crypto exchange to list on the Nasdaq Global Market.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the exchange’s application, and the listing is expected to take place as early as December 10th.

This milestone will be achieved through a merger with Thunder Bridge Capital Partners (TBCP), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

After the merger, Coincheck will remain a consolidated subsidiary of Monex Group. This groundbreaking move could potentially inspire other Japanese exchanges to explore similar listing opportunities on U.S. stock exchanges.
