Hut 8’s Hashrate to Reach 66%
Bitcoin mining company Hut 8 has predicted a 66% increase in its self-mining hashrate by the first quarter of 2025, following its agreement to purchase 31,145 Bitmain Antminer S21+ machines.
The company disclosed in a statement on November 6 that it will pay $15 per terahash for the miners, which are expected to be delivered during the early part of the first quarter of 2025.
Once these machines are installed, Hut 8’s self-mining hashrate is expected to increase from 5.6 exahashes per second to around 9.3 exahashes per second, representing a 66% boost.
This news comes after Hut 8’s announcement in September that it had a purchase option with Bitmain to add approximately 15 EH/s to its hashrate.
If this option is exercised, Hut 8’s hashrate could potentially reach 24 EH/s by the second quarter of 2025.
