Consensys Acquires Wallet Guard to Improve MetaMask Security

In a move to enhance the security of MetaMask, a popular non-custodial web3 wallet, its developer Consensys has acquired crypto security app Wallet Guard.
This acquisition will enable MetaMask users to benefit from Wallet Guard’s browser extension, which detects scams and wallet drainers in real-time.
Consensys plans to integrate Wallet Guard’s browser extension and security engine capabilities to provide better protection against theft, scams, and fraud for MetaMask users’ wallets, digital assets, and data.
The integration will also include transaction validation and client-side heuristics to improve drainer detection, ensuring real-time protection from malicious dapps and scams.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
