Canada Plans to Launch First Spot Solana ETFs This Week
Canada is set to launch a series of spot Solana (SOL) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) with staking features on Wednesday, as reported by Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas.
In a post on social media, Balchunas mentioned a circular from Toronto-Dominion Bank indicating that the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), which regulates the Toronto Stock Exchange, has approved four asset managers to introduce these new products.
The circular stated, “The OSC has authorized ETF issuers such as Purpose, Evolve, CI, and 3iQ to list the world’s first spot Solana ETFs in Canada.”
These ETFs will invest in Solana in physical form and track various indices. They will also engage in staking activities, potentially offering higher yields than Ether staking and reducing overall ETF holding costs.
