Coinbase: 83% of Institutional Investors Will Expand Crypto Exposure
Institutional investors are increasingly optimistic about cryptocurrency, with 83% planning to increase their allocations this year, according to a new survey by Coinbase and EY-Parthenon.
Conducted in January with 352 institutional decision-makers, the research highlights growing confidence in digital assets due to enhanced regulatory clarity and emerging use cases.
A majority (59%) of respondents plan to allocate over 5% of their assets under management (AUM) to crypto by 2025, indicating its transition from a niche investment to a key portfolio component.
This trend follows a robust 2024 for the crypto market, marked by the rising adoption of stablecoins, decentralized finance (DeFi), and tokenized assets. Stablecoins, in particular, are gaining institutional traction, with 84% of surveyed investors currently using or considering them for various purposes beyond transactions.
