CBOE Seeks to Launch Staking for Fidelity’s Ethereum ETF
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) has submitted a proposal to incorporate staking for the Fidelity Ethereum ETF (FETH), highlighting the world’s second-largest digital asset to investors.
The filing, made on March 11, requests amendments to previous filings to include staking, allowing investors to earn passive income by securing the Ethereum network. This proposal will be reviewed by the SEC, initiating a 240-day evaluation period for potential approval.
Since its launch in July 2024, Fidelity’s Ether ETF has attracted $1.45 billion in net inflows, even without staking incentives. The broader spot Ethereum market has seen over $2.6 billion in net inflows, according to SoSoValue data.
