Cboe BZX Resubmits 4 Filings for Solana ETFs

Cboe BZX Exchange has reignited the race for Solana-based ETFs, resubmitting a fresh batch of applications on Tuesday on behalf of four major investment firms: Canary, Bitwise, 21Shares, and VanEck

These new 19b-4 filings will prompt the Securities and Exchange Commission to restart its review process for spot Solana investment products, following the withdrawal of previous applications at the regulator’s request last year.

If approved, these ETFs would provide traditional investors with exposure to Solana without requiring them to directly hold the cryptocurrency, potentially expanding access to the digital asset market.

These latest filings capitalize on the recent momentum of crypto ETF approvals, with Bitcoin and Ethereum products having received SEC clearance in early 2024. However, unlike the world’s two-largest cryptocurrencies, Solana faces unique regulatory hurdles.
