On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at promoting the growth and development of cryptocurrencies in the US.

The order, which was co-signed by David Sacks, a venture capitalist and Trump’s appointed crypto and artificial intelligence czar, recognizes the importance of the digital asset industry in driving innovation and economic progress in both the US and globally.

Despite being a critic of cryptocurrencies during his first term, Trump’s stance shifted during his campaign and he received significant contributions from the industry in his bid for reelection.

In fact, a large portion of corporate donations during the 2024 election cycle came from crypto investors, companies, and executives who wanted to support Trump’s second term in office.
