CME May Launch Solana and XRP Futures Next Month

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is making plans to introduce futures contracts for two popular cryptocurrencies, Solana and XRP. If approved by regulators, the launch date is set for February 10.

The information was briefly available on the CME website before being removed. The leaked advertisement on the CME’s beta website suggests that both Solana and XRP futures contracts will be offered in standard and micro sizes.

The standard SOL contract will have a lot size of 500 SOL, while the micro-contract will include 25 SOL. Similarly, the standard XRP futures contract will have a lot size of 50,000 XRP, with the micro-contract set at 2,500 XRP. All contracts will be settled in US dollars.

ETF analyst James Seyffart and other experts believe that the potential launch of Solana and XRP futures contracts by the CME makes sense and is likely to happen.

They predict that there will be significant interest from retail investors in these contracts, given the popularity of these cryptocurrencies.
