Crypto Wallet Phantom Will Not Launch a Token

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Crypto wallet Phantom addressed rumors of an upcoming airdrop in a post on its X account Friday, following speculation from users that the platform’s recent launch of social features could signal a token release.

“We do not have any plans to launch a token,” Phantom stated, while also expressing excitement over the positive response to its new social features.

In December, Phantom introduced social features that allow users to create profiles, add friends, and choose from three privacy settings: public, private, or invisible.

Currently, usernames are supported only on Phantom’s mobile app, not its popular Chrome extension, although Phantom hinted that support for the extension is coming soon.

Despite some users speculating that features like following others or gaining followers might lead to an airdrop, and analysts suggesting a potential token release in 2025, Phantom’s latest statement appears to put those rumors to rest.
