Bitcoin ATM Installations in Australia Reach 29-Month Streak

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Over the span of 29 months, Australia experienced consistent growth in the number of Bitcoin ATMs, bringing the country’s total to near the amount found in Europe.

Currently, there are 1,359 Bitcoin ATMs in Australia, making up 3.5% of all global ATMs for this cryptocurrency. While this percentage may seem small, Australia holds the third-highest number of Bitcoin ATMs in the world.

Surpassing Europe’s 1,660 machines would place Australia as the third-largest Bitcoin ATM network, behind only the United States and Canada.

Despite a less favorable regulatory environment for crypto in recent years, the United States has maintained its dominance in the Bitcoin ATM market, currently holding 81.3% of all machines worldwide, with a total of 31,516.

Canada follows with 3,027 machines, accounting for 7.8% of the global market. Though Australia trails behind in terms of total numbers, its consistent growth in the past 29 months shows a promising trend for the country’s adoption of Bitcoin.
