Montenegro Court Rejects Former Terraform Labs CEO’s Appeal Against Extradition
The Constitutional Court of Montenegro has dismissed an appeal from Do Kwon, also known as Kwon Do-hyeong, who is the co-founder of cryptocurrency firm Terraform Labs.
Kwon is currently facing extradition proceedings in Montenegro for his role in the collapse of the TerraUSD stablecoin and its affiliated token, Luna.
Local news sources Vijesti and Pobjeda reported on December 24 that the court’s unanimous decision affirmed the authority of Montenegro’s Minister of Justice to handle extradition matters.
Kwon had challenged the legality of a ruling from the Supreme Court of Montenegro that nullified his transfer to South Korea and gave the justice minister the power to make decisions regarding his extradition. Kwon’s legal team argued that the decision was unfair, but the Constitutional Court found no violation of his rights.
