MicroStrategy Buys Another 21,550 Bitcoins
Business intelligence company MicroStrategy announced on Monday that it has bought around 21,550 Bitcoins for about $2.1 billion in cash. The purchases were made between December 2 and December 8, 2024, at an average price of approximately $98,783 per coin, including fees and expenses.
MicroStrategy funded these purchases through the sale of company shares. In the same time period, they sold a total of 5,418,449 shares and earned a net profit of approximately $2.13 billion, according to a filing with the SEC.
As of December 8, MicroStrategy held a total of 423,650 Bitcoins, which they purchased for an average price of around $60,324 per coin.
The total cost of their Bitcoin holdings is approximately $25.6 billion. This recent purchase marks the fifth consecutive week that MicroStrategy has made a significant investment in Bitcoin.
