SEC Gives Approval to Listing Spot Bitcoin ETF Options on NYSE and Cboe
On October 18, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gave approval for two important filings that permit the listing and trading of options on spot Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) by NYSE American LLC and Cboe Exchange, Inc. NYSE American LLC is a subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Group and caters mainly to small-cap companies.
Formerly known as the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), it offers trading in equities, options, and Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs).
The platform provides an avenue for companies that do not meet the listing requirements of the larger NYSE exchange.
It is recognized for its focus on options trading of various assets, including stocks and ETFs, and has recently expanded to include spot Bitcoin ETFs after securing regulatory approval in January.
Cboe Exchange, Inc., previously known as the Chicago Board Options Exchange, is one of the largest and most prominent options exchanges globally.
