The search volume for the term “Bitcoin” on Google has declined to its lowest levels in the past week since October 2023, despite a 142% rise in the value of the leading cryptocurrency in the past year.
Google Trends data shows a score of 17 worldwide and trending at 14 this week, compared to a score of 15 in October 2023, which was the lowest since the term reached its highest score of 100 in May 2021.
Google Trends calculates search interest as a percentage compared to the peak value for a certain region and time period.
A score of 100 represents the maximum popularity for the term, while 50 signifies half the popularity and a score of 0 means insufficient data.
This trend is similar when looking at data for the United States, with a score of 16 being recorded last week, the lowest since October 2023 when the score was 13.
