Crypto Market Sees Rising Liquidations
Over the last 24 hours, the cryptocurrency market saw a rise in liquidations as the price of Bitcoin decreased along with a general retreat from risky assets.
According to data from CoinGlass, a total of 81,838 traders were liquidated across centralized exchanges, resulting in a total of $272 million in liquidations. Bitcoin had the highest number of liquidations, with almost $78 million liquidated in the past day.
Of these liquidations, nearly $44 million were from long positions. The decline in the cryptocurrency market coincided with a drop in stocks on Friday.
The S&P 500 experienced its worst session in almost two years, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.9%, bringing its recent decline from its all-time high to over 10%.
