Marathon Digital Teams Up with Kenya on Several Green Energy Projects
Marathon Digital Holdings has announced a partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MOEP) in Kenya to collaborate on renewable energy projects.
The two entities will establish a committee to develop and implement these projects in the country, according to a joint statement.
Marathon Digital’s CEO Fred Thiel stated that this partnership is a crucial opportunity for their business and will provide a clear framework for pursuing opportunities in Kenya. Bitcoin mining has been gaining attention as a renewable energy source among leaders in developing nations due to its ability to generate power continuously.
However, critics argue that it is an energy-intensive operation and too new to be considered a reliable renewable energy source.
