Optimism Plans to Introduce Superchain Features for Layer-3 Developers
Optimism, a provider of Ethereum scaling solutions, is taking their blockchain scalability efforts to the next level by allowing layer-3 applications to build on top of their OP Stack.
This open standard codebase powers the Optimism Superchain, a network of layer-2 chains that share security and technology.
The team announced that layer-3s can now join the Superchain and utilize the benefits, such as retro funding and developer grants, while still being able to customize their applications. However, there may be some limitations on certain features like interoperability.
Layer-3 protocols offer advanced solutions for improving scaling, performance, interoperability, customization, and costs for decentralized applications built on top of layer-2s.
