Inactive Bitcoin Wallet Moves Funds After 10 Years
An inactive Bitcoin address from the time when Satoshi Nakamoto was still actively involved in the development of the cryptocurrency has recently become active again, after 10 years of dormancy.
The wallet, containing 687 BTC (equivalent to $43.9 million), made two separate transfers on May 6, sending 625.43 BTC to an address starting with bc1qky and the remaining 61.9 BTC to bc1qdc.
These movements of funds from wallets associated with the early days of Bitcoin, especially from the time of Satoshi, often sparks interest and speculation within the crypto community.
The term “Satoshi era” refers to the time when Nakamoto was actively involved in online forums and discussions after creating Bitcoin.
Some believe that certain wallets from this era may be connected to Nakamoto himself. In August 2023, a similar situation occurred when an inactive wallet from the Satoshi era suddenly became active and transferred 1,005 BTC mined in 2010.
This event created a lot of hype on social media, with some speculating that it could be Satoshi’s wallet.
