Crypto Venture Capital Funding Soared in March
In March, funding in the form of venture capital for crypto projects increased by 52.5%. This resulted in a total of $1.16 billion, primarily allocated to infrastructure and decentralized finance projects.
According to data from RootData, there were 180 publicly-announced investments in the last month, the highest recorded number since April 2022.
Out of these investments, one-fifth were in the range of $1 million to $3 million, while just over 15% secured between $5 million to $10 million.
The majority of these investments were made in projects based in the United States, although they only made up less than 10% of the total number of deals.
Among the top-funded projects in March, Ethereum’s layer-2 blockchain Optimism raised $89 million in a private deal, followed by cryptography startup Zama with $73 million raised in their Series A.
