Crypto Projects Recover $99M of $187M Lost in March Through Attacks: Report

A total of $187 million in assets were lost by crypto industry projects due to hacks last month, representing a 48% decrease from the previous month according to calculations by PeckShield.

Experts recorded 30 incidents during this period, with the largest being the exploit of the Munchables gaming Web3 platform on the second-level Ethereum solution Blast, resulting in a loss of $97 million.

Fortunately, the hacker, known under the alias Packman, returned the funds without any conditions. The Curio DeFi project also suffered a significant loss of $40 million from a separate hacker attack.

The attacker issued 1 billion CGT governance tokens, estimated to be worth $16 million according to Cyvers Alerts. Lastly, PeckShield specialists were among the first to report the hack of the Prisma Finance liquid staking platform, resulting in a loss of at least $11.6 million.
