Coinbase’s CEO Believes Cryptos Are Accelerating Globalization of the Economy
In December, Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, stated that the number of Americans purchasing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has been steadily increasing over the past few years.
He believes that the US government should legalize this market in order for it to experience faster growth.
This week, Armstrong criticized those who are against cryptocurrencies and highlighted the impact of blockchain technology on our lives. He mentioned that digital currencies are helping to globalize the financial system and streamline business processes.
In the US alone, there are approximately 50 million people using Bitcoin and other virtual currencies, and globally, this number surpasses 400 million.
However, only 0.5% of all digital asset transactions are related to criminal activity. Armstrong argued that the constant printing of dollars by the US government leads to inflation and reduces the value of the dollar, ultimately hurting the general population.
