Elon Musk: Dogecoin Will Become a Payment Option for Tesla Cars
During a recent visit to Tesla’s manufacturing plant, Giga Berlin, Elon Musk announced that in the future, people will be able to use Dogecoin cryptocurrency to purchase Tesla cars.
The car company already accepts Dogecoin as payment for merchandise purchases. In a video shared by @dogeofficialceo, Musk can be heard answering a question about buying cars with Dogecoin by saying, “At some point, I think we should enable that.”
He also mentioned that Tesla merch can currently be purchased with Dogecoin and expressed his enthusiasm for the coin’s growth.
Musk has previously shown his support for the dog-themed memecoin on multiple occasions. However, his recent comments come after he stated that he no longer spends much time thinking about cryptocurrencies.
Musk has also stated that the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, will never launch a cryptocurrency token. Musk’s comments have often impacted the value of Dogecoin in the past.
