Tether to Deploy USDT on Celo’s Blockchain

Tether plans to launch its USDT stablecoin on Celo’s EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain in the near future. The Celo network currently encompasses more than 1,000 projects in over 150 countries, making it a strong and diverse ecosystem.
One of the main benefits of integrating with Tether is the low transaction fees on the blockchain, which can be as low as $0.001.
This will enable the development of micropayment systems for users across different socioeconomic and geographical backgrounds.
Additionally, Celo’s EVM infrastructure allows for easy connectivity with the Ethereum ecosystem.
Through their partnership, cLabs is encouraging the blockchain community to consider using USDT for gas payments.
