Han Chang-joon, the former Chief Financial Officer of crypto company Terraform Labs, has been transported from Montenegro to South Korea after the Balkan country’s Ministry of Justice approved the extradition.

This move follows Han Chang-joon’s arrest at a Montenegro airport last year alongside Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon for attempting to travel with falsified documents. Han’s extradition comes after completing a four-month prison sentence in Montenegro.

Do Kwon remains in custody in Montenegro while the Ministry deliberates whether he will be sent to South Korea or the United States. Do Kwon’s legal team has requested a delay in his Securities and Exchange Commission trial so he can appear in person.

In December, the Montenegrin appeals court overturned the previous decision to extradite Do Kwon to South Korea and the US.

The SEC had charged Terraform Labs and Do Kwon in February 2021 for their involvement in the collapse of two tokens created by the company, TerraUSD and Luna, which resulted in a $40 billion loss for investors in just a few days.
